The NAGTO Member Professional Development Seminar

Invicta Law’s Sage Patel attended a training day for the National Association of Gypsy and Traveller Officers (NAGTO) on Friday 23rd November 2018. He was asked to provide training to other professionals in this field regarding ‘Successful enforcement, including through court action to eviction’.

NAGTO is ‘an organisation founded in 1997 that now has over a hundred members, each of whom are employed in working with Gypsy, Traveller or Roma people over accommodation and other issues. It supports the development of excellent practice by local authorities, police and other organisations on this issue. It also responds to Government and other consultations on proposed changes’.

Sage had this to say about the day:

“I had the pleasure of attending the 21st Anniversary for NAGTO and their training day.  I met a group of 30 incredible people or rather professionals who have a genuine desire and compassion for making positive changes to their communities.

I delivered a successful training on the eviction of residents for breach of their pitch agreements under the Mobile Homes Act. It was well received, and I was given some very helpful and encouraging feedback.”

The Chair had this to say:

“Thanks so much for coming to our Training Day last Friday in Northampton, and not only delivering a very useful and informative presentation, but also taking part in the rest of the day. Members really appreciated your contribution.”

Invicta Law regularly advise and assist local authorities and other landowners in these difficult, highly charged and sensitive situations.
