The company
Invicta Law’s Planning & Highways team prides itself on providing comprehensive and proactive advice and support at competitive rates to local authority and public sector clients. We have an exciting opportunity for a Highways Lawyer to join our expanding team of experienced professionals.
In addition to providing high quality legal advice and drafting and negotiating s278 and s38 agreements, the team advises on highways structure agreements, highway land transfers, stopping up orders, highways boundaries, highway dedication and traffic regulation orders.
We are looking for a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive with good experience in key areas of highways law ideally, with a working knowledge of local government. Experience in property law and/or planning law would also be an advantage.
The successful candidate will have the ability to manage their own caseload and work effectively to high professional standards, including being able to proactively respond quickly and accurately to urgent matters and deadlines.

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Work with the team and advise upon all legal aspects of highways work
- Draft and negotiate a wide and varied caseload of highways agreements, deeds and transfers
- Represent Invicta Law and clients at meetings
- Provide advice to Invicta Law’s other expert teams as necessary
- Maintain good working relationships with clients
- Time record accurately and manage time efficiently
- Maintain SRA standards and ethics at all times
