Our specialisms 

  • Easements: Creation of new easements and the various statutory undertakers.
  • Grants of leases and licences: For a variety of different commercial property types.
  • Acquisition of freehold property: For commercial or residential development, including searches, environmental matters and land uses.
  • Compulsory purchase: Advising on and running the entire process from initial instructions to end of project.
  • Departmental liaison: Commercial parks, schools, open space, highways and more – we liaise efficiently with other departments within clients’ organisations.
  • Overage and clawback: Rights, cross-rights, restrictive and positive covenants.
  • Leasehold transactions: Academy and nursery leases, commercial suites and individual properties.
  • Portfolio management: From licences to occupy and tenancies at will to deeds of grant, and licences for works to landlord and tenant notices including security of tenure notices under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 Part II.
  • Provision and management of loans: For regeneration schemes in support of business; empty property loans for private residences; or loans for educational purposes to schools.
  • Lease renewal proceedings: Including for the letting of commercial units.
  • Residential licences: Advice and assistance with the process.

Our team has a comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Property experience and are specialists in this area of public sector law. Our lawyers will work strategically in partnership with you to deliver the result you want. We have been appointed to a number of public sector frameworks which allows local authorities to instruct us without undertaking a new procurement process.
