Paul qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2003 and initially worked as an in-house lawyer for a FTSE 100 company. In 2007, he transitioned to the public sector, where he played a key role in establishing a fully integrated local authority shared legal service, serving five London boroughs.
Paul is passionate about public law, believing it significantly impacts the lives of ordinary people. “Our work in the public sector makes a real difference,” he says. “It’s a career path that is both rewarding and dynamic.”
In his previous role as Head of Practice for a large local authority shared legal service, Paul managed all non-fee-earning elements of the practice. He was instrumental in transforming the in-house local authority legal team into a five-borough shared legal service.
In 2017, he was part of a team that earned an LGC award for driving efficiency through technology with a digital solution that aimed to replace paper-based files and documents with secure electronic Court bundles.
