About Deesha Shah
Deesha is a Legal Assistant in the Community Care team who joined Invicta Law in April 2021, having graduated from the University of Law with a Master of Law in Professional Legal Practice in 2018.
She previously worked at a firm with a commercial and litigation bias as well as at a London Local Authority for 2 years as a Childcare and Data Protection Paralegal on a public inquiry.
Deesha has jointly worked on various asylum matters including assisting in defending pre-action and judicial review challenges to local authority decisions, instructing counsel in High Court and Upper Tribunal hearings and providing proactive legal assistance to the team.
Deesha has case held a number of age assessment disputes from completing quality assurance, to responding to pre-action letters and defending claims issued at the Administrative Court and Upper Tribunal. Deesha has also assisted fee earners in successfully defending a number of age assessment challenges, including AB v KCC (JR/1947/2020); MM v KCC (CO/4214/2021); MA v KCC (JR/1053/2021) and LYB v KCC (JR/491/2021).
